Ask Your Wife First.
And selecting apartments. Twice we have had tenants sign year leases before their wives see the apartments. Obviously what looks great to men often does nothing for the woman. Either they just don't like it or want the control to at least disagree. The year leases were both broken. Men, Ask First!

Making The Best Of It!
We have a storm, we go surfing. We have a blizzard, we go snowboarding. We have and earthquake....
You have got to love Californians. From all of us who survived and rebuilt after the Loma Prieta quake of 1989, good luck to you all. You will never forget, but you will recuperate.

There Is Nothing Logical In Chronological Age
Don't give things up. Keep active. Keep Laughing not only at your loved ones, but at yourself. Laugh at stupid jokes and clever ones. Don't behave how you are expected to. Live every day well, you have no guarantee of a tomorrow. Keep learning and exercise your brain as well as your body. Smile at Strangers.

Tuck and Patty
We went to Jazz on the Plaz downtown Los Gatos tonight and had a great time seeing Tuck and Patty.
Patty sang a song High Heal Blues. I've had those blues, many a time. She sang about how the sales man says he going to go in the back of the store and stretch those shoes that pinch and bind. And we actually believe him and buy those pretty shoes anyway. It was so right on the money. I laughed.

We Were Dancing In The Streets
We went to see Motown the Musical last night at the Orpheum!
It was funny, touching, reminiscent of our youth and just great! Go see it if you get a chance.

Let Me Think
So my husband gets off the telephone after speaking with his Mother and says, "I think Mom's memory is slipping. She told me the same story three times." I asked him what the story was and he answered, "I can't remember.

Before VCRs
I remember saying no to friends, turning down dates, and not wanting to work for fear of missing an episode of Mork and Mindy. I laughed and laughed at that hilarious man who was the funniest thing since Lucille Ball and I Love Lucy. He was very special to me. I saw him in other rolls throughout his career and found him fascinating in his diversity. It's sad to think that someone who could make us laugh so hard could be in that much agony. If only our laughter could have lifted him up. Robin Williams I will always think of you with a smile on my face. I hope your family will be able to as well.

What Are They Running From?
So we have over 52,000 children trying to get into the United States. I think we must have to ask ourselves, why are their Mothers choosing to send their children away? Can you imagine packing your children off for a place you have never been, not knowing if they would even arrive? What is going on in San Salvador, Honduras, Nicaragua, and Guatemala? A relatively small section of the world is causing this mass exodus of it's children. We as taxpayers and United States Citizens are spending Millions, maybe Billions of tax dollars to treat the symptom of their disease. I think we have to look at the source, we have to use our resources there. It should be possible to assist these countries in finding a way to peaceful coexistence within their own boarders. Whether it is economic aid, job stimulation, or military action, that is necessary to answer this scream for help, it is past time to act. We are a country that is strong and full of resources, not just money, but educated minds. Can we not think of a way to help these woman and children and the men in their lives who are obviously ineffectual in securing a safe environment for them. Should we hope to find a way to ease the tensions in those regions?
If the table was turned and all the Mothers of American children were so frightened for their children's safety that they started to send them across the boarders to a safer place, wouldn't we look at what was happening in our own states to cause this kind of fear? Would we hope our children would someday be reunited with us? That they would survive to thrive another day? It's too sad for me to think of those children, lonely frightened, and hopeless. Please let's put our heads together and figure this out.

Grammar
So it seems like a constant battle correcting the grammar of the people around me. Sometimes I wonder why I care so much about whether someone says; those ones or these ones, 15 items or less, or any of the other atrocities to the English language that I hear every day. When it is my children or grand child pulling these errors, I think well at least they will not appear ignorant and will know the difference. But, you see this everyday, in stores, on television, in magazines, and newspapers. I think the 'dumbing down' of America hasn't just started but is in full effect. Thank you Weird Al for being as crazy as me.
