Enjoy Today's Riddle
Often talked of, never seen, Ever coming, never been, Daily looked for, never here, Still approaching, coming near. Thousands for it's visit wait But alas for their fate, Tho' they expect me to appear, They will never find me here.

Groan
Two chefs in Boston who were competing for the title of "Finest Fish
Fryer." Their talents were about equal, their dishes equally excellent.
However, at the last moment one of the chefs glazed his entry and won
the title. "Alas!" lamented the other, "There but for the glaze of cod go I!"

This is the Crew
After lunch planning the next step in the landscape project at Eli's house. It's been a lot of work and a lot of laughs. Working with my guys and Mimi has been lots of fun.

Happy Father's Day
Happy Father's Day
Remember the time I threw up in your face?
We were all over at Grandma's place.
And the time when the house shook so hard?
Eli was safe, out in the yard.
And how about when we went up to the fair?
The van broke down, I left Grizzlor somewhere.
And School was tough but you pushed us through,
And we're glad you did or we wouldn't have a clue.
Then unlike most men you taught us a trade,
And you've kept us in line, now we've got it made.
Occasionally they remember the good,
And what that word means, 'Fatherhood'.

Great Friends
Joshua and Marla are very close. Marla loves Joshua and is so patient with him. Maybe it's her size or possibly she just understands that he is a young human, she is always gentle even when then are playing hard. They are both very lucky.

Playing Hookie
So I found this picture of this dog in a year book and thought it looked just like my Son and his Fiance's dog. So I copied the picture, attached it to the e-mails and sent it to them both, along with this note.
Your daughter was not in class today, bet she is in the dog house tonight. Sincerely, The Office Staff

Knitters Know
I said, "Jeronimo, not knit a row!"
So I entered a caption contest with Sockupied. Do you think I may win?

High School Level
Not to make light of the material included here, if this is high school level, our future is in trouble. Is it simply that it is not important any longer to be able to use handwriting skills? Has it become passe to be able to write a sentence? When I hear the AT&T commercial where the the Child says, "Look at them kids," I cringe. When people say those ones or these ones, I cringe. Is it cool to have horrible grammar? I always thought it was a sign of ignorance. I have to admit it worries me.

Freight Trains and Fathers
When I was Joshua's age, my Father gave me this Lionel train. He set it up and we made little buildings and tunnels and watched it run around and around. Now Joshua and his Father are talking trains, freight, engines, and cabooses. Life is really such a wonderful thing. The old train works just like it did when I was little, making such fond memories for me and my Dad and now for Joshua and his Dad.

As Someone Once Said
"The Liars punishment is not in the least that he is not believed, but that he cannot believe in anyone else."
“People think that a liar gains a victory over his victim. What I’ve learned is that a lie is an act of self-abdication, because one surrenders one’s reality to the person to whom one lies, making that person one’s master, condemning oneself from then on to faking the sort of reality that person’s view requires to be faked…The man who lies to the world, is the world’s slave from then on…There are no white lies, there is only the blackest of destruction, and a white lie is the blackest of all.”
― Ayn Rand, Atlas Shrugged

The Truth is so much stronger and living in truth so much easier. Why would anyone lower themselves into the pit of confusion that lies lead to? R. Fernandez
