I had to ask...

         So I asked my husband for $40.00 so I could pay my hairdresser, promising he would come home to a younger looking wife. He got out his wallet and inquired what he could get for $85.00.

Love it Clean

My husband and I were standing in our neighbors kitchen, talking about the new wine stain on my husband's clothes, when our hostess ran downstairs and came back with a bottle of Soil Love. These people are our dear friends and wine making partners. Our hostess said, "You wouldn't believe the crap I get out of my husband's pants with this stuff, take it and try it."

I said in all seriousness, to her husband, "why don't you just stop crapping your pants?"

                    Just so you know, Soil Love does work really well.

Krups, Friend or Foe?

Our coffee pot had finally given up the ghost. So while we were at Pete's picking up our regular order of Major Dickason's, we saw this coffee pot on sale and decided it would be a good substitute. However after getting it home I found that there was absolutely no way to pour coffee from the pot or water into the holding tank without making a terrible mess. We tried pouring slowly, we tried pouring faster, thinking user error was the blame. But it all got me thinking back to a summer when I was eight and my Sister Jennifer read aloud to us, as we traveled cross country from her book, The Arms of Krups. Apparently they were a family that produced the armaments for the Germans in WWII. After the war the company was forced to produce nothing more explosive than these coffee pots and other household items. I now believe that their antagonism for us is still as strong today as it was then. I can only assume that they may think : 'Ah Ha! If we produce these coffee pots, it will drive the Americans crazy. They will waste countless hours cleaning up the mess and they will waste precious resources. It will make them question their ability to do even the simplest task. It would be another small victory, over our oppressors.'  That may not be true, but after using this coffee pot, it is something worth considering. We returned it to Pete's and I purchased a Kitchen Aid. Made in China. uh o!

In the century since the beginning of the world wonderful things have been discovered. In the last century more amazing things were found out than in any century before. In this new century hundreds of things still more astounding will be brought to light. At first people refuse to believe that a strange new thing can be done, then they begin to hope it can be done, then they see it can be done-then it is done and all the world wonders why it was not done centuries ago. One of the new things people began to find out in the last century was that thoughts-just mere thoughts are as powerful as electric batteries-as good for one as sunlight is, or as bad for one as poison. Te let a sad thought or a bad one get into your mind is as dangerous as letting a scarlet fever germ get into your body. If you let it stay there after it has got in, you may never get over it as long as you live.

Joshua came up with this solution to the problem: when we go outside we must have shoes on. He's ready now. Or maybe not.

So my husband came upstairs from our wood shop and he looked dismayed and confused stating, "I don't know what's wrong with me. Nothing seems to being going as it should." So I thought about it a minute and said, " Well maybe your moon is in Uranus." He laughed and I think the rest of his day went better.
